About Jacob and his Traveling Companions
Jacob - 67 trips (30 solo)
Jacob Emerick is a slightly eccentric web developer, explorer, and general doer of things. A hick at heart, Jacob would rather be miles from civilization with a few friends that in the midst of a busy city, especially one the size of Houghton. Often tackling large projects in and out of a work/academic environment, he is generally happiest buried in work with no hope of timely completion. If asked why he decided to spend most of the summer trudging around the Upper Peninsula collecting ticks and pictures, he will probably simply mention that he didn't have anything else better to do after work.
Katie - 24 trips
Katie is Jacob's girlfriend of over two years and enjoys easy strolls through the woods with waterfalls at the end.
Logan - 57 trips
Logan is Jacob and Katie's dog and started waterfalling with them when he was only a few months old. He enjoys most hikes, especially if they involve snow, but doesn't like to ford moving rivers or push through thick brush.
Faith - 13 trips
Faith is Jacob's friend and enjoys a good challenge. She attends Michigan Tech.
Cory - 6 trips
Cory is Jacob's friend and enjoys hiking with Jacob and Faith and checking out the older mines and ruins in the Copper Country.

Steele is Jacob's friend and enjoys a challenging hike, but usually avoids particularly dangerous adventures.
Emily - 4 trips
Emily lives with Jacob and Katie and enjoys hiking when she's not too busy with school.
