Second falls is a small drop formed by a narrowing of the canyon near the deep cliff-jumping pool. Last falls, known as 'Upper Falls', splits the river in half - one a small, narrow drop and the other a larger slide with a small drop at the bottom.

- Nearby Falls:

- Area:
- Cedar forest and mild undergrowth most of the way. The river will start with a relatively flat, slabbed riverbed with some rapids and small falls along the way but plunges into a deep gorge after the first falls. River flows in the bottom of a steep slate-layered canyon before entering in a swampy area past the last falls.
- Trail:
- 25 minutes one-way
Well defined and maintained trail from the roadside park to the first falls. Trail 'ends' with an overlook into the gorge near the first falls, but a decent footpath continues on down the riverside. Trail is defined but not marked and may be hard to follow over flat rock outcroppings, but stays close to the riverbank all the way to the last falls. - Drive:
- 42 mins from Houghton, MI (change)
