Onion Falls

Description:

Short, uniform slide near a tall cliff. Water flows from one small pool to another down this tiny drop.

Area:

Large, grassy plains and thick, unkempt forests. Far upstream of the falls is swampy and filled with beaver dams, and the creek enters a deeper valley as it nears the falls and Ontonagon River.

Trail:

90 minutes one-way
Head to the far end of the grassy field to the bottom right corner, passing the two rotting foundations on the way. Follow the dry, rocky gorge that is in the bottom southern corner down to Onion Creek. Head downstream from here a distance until you hit the falls. You may cut out some time cutting off the bows in the creek, though climbing up/down the hills and walking through the thick pines may confuse and slow you down.
