Description:
A two-tiered drop from one thick swamp to the next, with the top one being a short spill into a rocky basin and the lower falls dropping a taller distance onto a flat rock.
Location:
Marquette County at 46°24' 26.5" N, 87°35' 46.89" W (map)
Nearby Falls:
Warner Falls (1.8 miles), Ely Falls (4.8 miles), White City Falls (6 miles), Upper Carp River Falls (8 miles)
Area:
Very thick woods surround an equally thick swamp. Terrain is rugged with sudden rocks and gorges too wide to jump, and area is very easy to get lost in.
Trail:
10 minutes one-way
Either head northeast into the woods from the parking spot to the falls or follow the two-track to the river and head downstream. Woods are disorientating and very easy to get lost in - highly recommend leaving a friend at the vehicle to shout to or marking a trail in.
Drive:
1 hour 54 mins from Houghton, MI (change)
