Nearby Falls:
Lower Montreal Falls (0.4 miles), Manganese Gorge Falls (4.9 miles), Haven Falls (9.1 miles), Silver River Falls (12 miles)
Area:
Very thick pine and cedar forests over rugged, rocky terrain. Both falls have a tall bulge of rock to the left that offers a limited view.
Trail:
75 minutes one-way
After parking at the end of Smithss-Fishery Road continue on foot along the shoreline. First third of this trail is an old two-track and the last two-thirds is a well-trodden footpath. After reaching Lower Montreal Falls, head upstream along the left riverbank on the trail to the first falls. Continue past these to find the uppermost falls. Trail dissipates before reaching the uppermost falls, and some hard bushwhacking is needed to reach them. A swampy area is located upstream of the last falls.

1 hour 15 mins from Houghton, MI (change)
