The turn off for Smithss-Fishery Road immediately forks: take the right one (not the rocky left one). Stay on this road: there won't be any appealing turnoffs. Half-way there the road will take a turn for the worse, going from a sandy logging road to a unimproved rocky one. On the way back you'll notice a fork that is hard to spot when you first head in due to it's angle. Take the left fork: right will take you to the Mandan Loop and beyond.
